Like its name implies, pure cotton dress shirt means that the shirts are made entirely from cotton, not like cotton blends where fibers distinctive of cotton are integrated into the weave, cotton dress shirts rely solely on natural fabric. This fiber shape was the basis of trade for many countries in the Americas, India and Africa.

It is spun into a yarn or thread to produce a soft and airy fabric for clothes, particularly for blue dress. Cotton dress shirts are generally recommended when the wearer is more likely prone to heat and sweating than usual, but it can be worn anytime of the year. Pure cotton is more flexible than cotton blends. When washed pure cotton shirts can withstand copious amounts of washing and care unlike cotton and polyester. They are very absorbent and can hold up to more than 25 times of its own weight. They are able to maintain without damaging the fabric, as shown by the tufts of fabric after continuous washing of certain cotton blend shirts.
